Join our visiting tutor Rob Lunn together with your host Monica in the South of France for an oil painting holiday en plein air. Every day we will visit a different location allowing you to explore the beauty of this region through your pallet and paintbrush.

Over the week students will learn the process of building an oil painting ‘en plein air’ using a limited palette of 6 colours plus titanium white. Special focus will be placed on composition and colour-mixing throughout the week. A strongly designed structure combined with accurate colour analysis can allow for more experimental, expressive, and painterly brushwork. The process of building an oil painting ‘en plain air’ can be broken down into several easy-to-follow steps. Rob will demonstrate all lessons with the group and will be on hand to guide students through their development. There will also be printed materials to help students work towards their goals.

Rob is a passionate artist and designer who has 12-years experience teaching painting in the UK and will be your tutor on this oil painting holiday. With a strong preference for oils, Rob relishes exploring new styles and techniques, constantly striving to expand his expertise in this captivating, versatile, and fulfilling medium. He finds immense gratification in sharing his knowledge with others, teaching oil painting workshops and individual instruction. “As a painter,” he asserts, “it’s beneficial to be regularly reminded of those fundamental core skills. The more I teach, the better a painter I become.”

Rob’s passion for art is evident in his dedication to both his own practice and his commitment to inspiring others through his teaching. His enthusiasm and expertise make him an exceptional guide for aspiring artists, helping them unlock their creative potential and embark on their own artistic journeys.
