DESCRIPTION OF OUR PAINTING HOLIDAY IN SPAIN
Join Simon and Monica for a painting holiday in Spain from Saturday 21st Sept – Saturday 28th Sept 2024 which will be based on the beautiful Costa Brava, close to both Barcelona and Girona airports.
The Costa Brava boasts a rugged coastline with a mix of beautiful coves and long sandy beaches. It is also home to some of the most picturesque fishing villages on the Spanish coast. We’ll also be exploring some of the historic traditional villages inland that have stood still in time – the perfect locations for a painting holiday in Spain.
Our painting holidays in Spain are a maximum of 8 students and are aimed at painters of all abilities. Each day you will have the opportunity to paint in a different location under the guidance of Simon, your experienced painting tutor. He’ll help you improve your watercolor techniques, give advice where needed, suggest compositions and choice of colours, as well as help you unravel the mysteries of 1, 2, and 3-point perspective. We’ll present you with a personal A4 travel journal (300gsm/140lb watercolour paper) in which you’ll be able to add sketches and paintings throughout your week. The perfect memento of your Painting Holiday in Spain.
Monica, a creative cook has designed a wonderful tasting experience for your holiday. This includes picnics as well as an introduction to some authentic Spanish eateries. Suppers are mainly catered at your accommodation where you’ll be introduced to an array of local dishes as well as a enjoying a grand night out in a local restaurant.
This holiday does require some walking, so participants need to be mobile to get to some of the painting locations.

ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation for our painting holiday in Spain
On our painting holiday in Spain, we’ll be based in Catalonia, just inland from the Costa Brava. Close to Barcelona (the closest international airport) and Girona, it’s an easy destination to get to from both the UK, USA, and Australia. This unspoiled region of Spain boasts a beautifully rugged coastline and is dotted with traditional Spanish villages.
Our accommodation is a beautiful traditional old farmhouse about 25 minutes away from the coast in a small village. The large house has 7 bedrooms and bathrooms. Its ensuite accommodation offers all the convenience of a hotel with the privacy of your own house. There are 2 living room areas and large terrace where you can enjoy a sundowner around the pool, or take a walk in the spacious private gardens.
